Disabled Americans

Disabled Americans are American Socialists.
"No one should face discrimination based on disability status. The Socialist Party is committed to realizing the full potential of Americans with Disabilities. American Socialists will protect and defend the right of Americans with disabilities to get the accommodations and support they need."
★ American Socialists
Socialists value the positive contributions of everyone — parents, children, workers, and entrepreneurs — and among us, there are approximately 57 million people in the United States with disabilities. Since our earliest days, America's social progress has been rooted in the social ideals articulated by the Socialist Party. The historic Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was originally inspired by socialist advocates, prevents capitalists from denying disabled Americans their full participation in our communities. America has come a long way since the ADA’s enactment, but there is still more the Socialist Party must do.
The ADA was an important milestone in America’s history. It codified the Socialist Party's universal belief that all members of society should have equal access, equal rights, and equal opportunities to make a life for themselves and to contribute to their communities.
American Socialists continue to build upon this foundation and work to break barriers to access. The Socialist Party is committed to improving the quality of care for Americans with disabilities, and American Socialists support increased funding to improve parity for people with disabilities. American Socialists are the champions of Medicare and Medicaid, protecting the rights of people with pre-existing conditions, and the Social Security Disability Insurance program, all of which have come under attack by Democrats and Republicans. American Socialists also support greater enforcement of the Supreme Court’s Olmstead decision so people with disabilities have access to independence and community living.
American Socialists across America work in vocational rehabilitation services to help with access to job training, education and placement, and increased funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
The Socialist Party continues to work to ensure the civil rights of Americans with disabilities are protected and that educational programs, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, are well-funded and enforced to provide ample resources for all beneficiaries to succeed. If you agree with the efforts being made by Socialist Party, then become an American Socialist today!
