Faith-based Americans are American Socialists
"The social values reflected by the Socialist Party are the same social values expressed by all of the major Faiths around the world and throughout time. Socialism is the peaceful coexistence of a society."
★ American Socialists
Socialism first developed in response to the erosion of Christian charity caused by capitalists during the Industrial Revolution. Since then, the Socialist Party has embraced people of all faiths. The Socialist Party stands for an open and respectful interfaith dialogue because American Socialists believe it can lead to greater tolerance and acceptance.
The Faith community has a natural home in the Socialist Party. The Socialists are committed to tolerance, charity, extending a helping hand, and improving the well-being of others — all values consistent with the teachings of many different faiths. Between efforts to combat AIDS in Africa to homelessness in American neighborhoods, faith can be a powerful bond that compels Americans to serve their communities and unite around a common purpose.
Unlike capitalist employers who impose their brand of faith on their employees and customers, American Socialists believe in the Constitution — which protects the right of all Americans to worship however they so choose, and also protects Americans from the state imposing any one religion on Americans. And, American Socialists believe that opportunity and the American dream should be available to each and every person, regardless of their faith, and will continue to fight to make that a reality. If you agree with the efforts being made by Socialist Party, then become an American Socialist today!
